FAQ
Is it fully online?
Yes, all you require is a stable internet connection to access the modules using a digital device.
What are the advantages of studying online?
You can study at times that work best for you, such as evenings or weekends. Please remember weekly engagements are required. There is no need to travel to lectures, exam venues, or pre-determined facilities because you submit all your learning activities and assignments online. This will help you balance work, family, and other responsibilities.
What device do I need to study online?
You will need a laptop or a desktop computer that can connect to the internet. Mobile phones and tablets can be used to access the required platforms to view content, but a device with a larger screen and keyboard will be required for completing assessments.
How good must my computer skills be?
You will need good computer skills to obtain this qualification online. An orientation module hosted on the learning platform will provide guidance for navigating your modules.
Must I have around-the-clock access to the internet?
To fully benefit from our UPOnline programmes, you should be able to connect to the internet when you choose to engage weekly with course content. Continuous, around-the-clock access is unnecessary; however, regular weekly access is essential to stay up-to-date with study materials and requirements.
How does payment work?
You pay an application fee and thereafter only pay for the module or modules you are studying. In other words, there is no need for a lump sum payment upfront. Module fees are payable before the start of the registered module.
How does graduation work for online students?
You will receive detailed graduation communication from the University of Pretoria on the successful completion of your studies. This communication will explain all the steps needed in the graduation process and specify your graduation date. Please wait for official communication before you make arrangements for your graduation. You can attend graduation in person to receive your qualification on stage or have it sent to you by mail.
